Destin Florida Vacation
Dubbed by residents as the “world’s luckiest fishing village” due to its many locations for angling for king mackerel, cobia, marlin, wahoo and sailfish, Destin was established by a New England fisherman named, Leonard Destin in the 1840s. Known for its beautiful white beaches and emerald green waters, Destin, Florida tourism has never had any trouble attracting guests year round-especially if you are looking for a serene area that allows you relax without being too far away from the excitement and activities of the “big cities” like Pensacola or Fort Walton. When you come, make sure that you include the following on your itinerary.
- Dolphin Cruise Southern Star Glass Bottom Boat- Go on a dolphin watch and enjoy the view both above and below the boat.
- SonQuest Cruises (SOLORIS)- Enjoy a meal, music and dancing on the area’s premier yacht.
- Spend an afternoon meandering the Destin Commons- This is a great area for shopping and getting a feel for the atmosphere of Destin. There are over 80 specialty shops and an assortment of dining options.
- Hudson Beach State Park-Miles of sandy beaches, camping sites, swimming, fishing, and nature trails. This is a great place to spend a day (or more) just enjoying the company you’re with.
- Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park- From waterslides to lazy rivers, the Raging Rhino or the Honolulu Half Pipe the splashing adventures are unlimited. Then when you are ready to dry out, head over to the Adventure Park and enjoy a round of putt-putt or a turn around the miniature raceway.
